CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE & TRAINING (FOR PARENTS)

Through Regional Child Care Resources & Referral program, Guilford Child Development assists families with finding childcare for children of all ages, income levels and ethnic groups. We also assist families with identifying scholarships to help cover the cost of child care.

Whether you are a working parent, stay-at-home parent, caregiver, or student living in Guilford, Randolph or Rockingham Counties, finding the right type of quality child care is critical. Let Regional Child Care Resources & Referral (RCCR&R) of Children & Families First assist you with finding childcare that is right for your child and your schedule — full-time, part-time, days, evenings, overnights, weekend or summer. Our services are free of charge, and we can help you find quality licensed child care for children ages 0 to 12, regardless of your needsOur Child Parent Counselors are available from 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday to speak with you about your childcare needs – (800) 289-5098. 

LOOKING FOR NO-COST OR SUBSIDIZED CHILD CARE

Learn more about Children & Families First’s Head Start and Early Head Start programs, as well as our Child Care Scholarships offered by RCCR&R. Qualified parents and caregivers also have the option of applying to place their children into state-funded NC Pre-K classrooms through Guilford County Public Schools, as well as private for-profit day care centers that have been approved by the state to host an NC Pre-K program.

CHILDCARE SCHOLARSHIPS

RCCR&R offers the “Paying for Quality Child Care” scholarship assistance program through support from the United Way of Greater Greensboro. The program is able to cover a portion of your child care costs (based on qualifications). While this program is primarily funded by United Way, other sources of support include churches, foundations, and individual contributions.

To receive scholarship assistance, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Reside in the Greater Greensboro area
  • Work a minimum of 25 hours per week
  • Child care must be same shift as employment.
  • If married, both spouses must be employed.
  • Additional requirements may apply.
